You may be eligible for traditional unemployment assistance and a new form of unemployment benefits created by New York State specifically for the coronavirus pandemic.

• Pandemic Unemployment Assistance is for those who would not normally qualify for unemployment benefits. That includes some categories of individuals who were self-employed, contractors, who quit work around the time of the coronavirus pandemic to provide care for family members, and those who were looking for work when the pandemic happened.
