Brownsville, Get WIC Your Way

WIC offers FREE healthy food, nutrition counseling, and referrals to services for pregnant women and families with children under the age of 5.

  • It’s not just for women.
Dads! Grandparents! Foster parents! Stepparents! You can apply for and receive these benefits for your family too.
  • It’s not just for U.S. citizens.
You can qualify regardless of your immigration status.* And participation doesn’t affect green card or citizenship applications.
  • It’s not just for kids.
Pregnant and postpartum women get healthy food, healthcare referrals, breastfeeding and lactation support, and FREE breast pumps. You can qualify for WIC benefits as soon as you are pregnant.
  • It’s for people with SNAP, Medicaid, and TANF benefits—and people without.
Families who receive SNAP, Medicaid, or TANF automatically qualify for WIC and can receive benefits at the same time. Even so, many families who don’t qualify for SNAP may qualify for WIC, so check! What’s more, SNAP has faced cuts, but WIC has not been cut.

*WIC clinics and agencies do not inquire or collect information about a participant’s immigration or citizenship status. United for Brownsville is actively monitoring current WIC protocols for any changes in this policy.
