United for Brownsville is thrilled to announce our partnership with NYC Civic Corps, part of the AmeriCorps national service program! We’re looking for a passionate, community-driven individual to join our WIC Equity Initiative as a Civic Corps Member.
This is more than a service opportunity — it’s a chance to build your skills, grow your network, and make a real difference in the lives of Brooklyn families.
💪 What You’ll Do
As a Civic Corps Member, you’ll play a key role in our efforts to increase access to WIC, a critical nutritional program for families. You’ll serve side-by-side with residents, providers, and our team to:

Recruit volunteers

Lead community outreach events
-
Create powerful, action-oriented materials to drive awareness
Whether you’re planning a block party, leading a parent workshop, or designing flyers, your service will make it easier for families to get the healthy food they deserve.
🎁 What You’ll Get
This 10-month paid service term includes:

$24,500 stipend (pre-tax)

$5,176 education award (can be used for tuition or loans)

Hands-on experience in public and nonprofit work

This position supports our WIC Your Way initiative. From redesigning how WIC offices are mapped to supporting community-based outreach, we’re making WIC easier to understand, easier to access, and more centered around family needs.
