Most of the media about COVID-19 doesn’t relate to NYC residents. Brooklyn-based non-profit United for Brownsville wants to spread the word about how folks in Brownsville and surrounding neighborhoods are surviving the coronavirus pandemic. In a short video, let us know how you are helping your neighbors, family, friends, and loved ones stay safe during the outbreak. Keep it entertaining. Keep safe.

Must be 18 years or older and a resident of Central Brooklyn (Brownsville, Crown Heights, Weeksville, Bed-Stuy, East Flatbush, East New York)

Submit your video to the UB team through our online Google form (you must sign up or sign in to your Gmail account to use the form).

Participants must select one platform (Facebook or Instagram) they’d like their video posted to. You cannot submit multiple entries for multiple platforms. If you submit multiple entries, all entries will be automatically disqualified.

Replicated videos will be disqualified

Video must not exceed 60 seconds. Videos beyond 60 seconds will automatically be disqualified.

Recommended video format: .mov and .mp4

Videos can be submitted beginning June 3, 2020 at 1:00pm Eastern Time (“ET”) until September 1, 2020 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET.

Round 1: A panel of judges at UB will review all submissions and select the “Top 20” (10 for each platform) based on creativity, promotion of safety, and innovation. The top videos will then be posted on UB’s social media pages

Round 2: Participants will have one week to encourage family and friends to visit UB’s pages to like their videos

6 different videos will win prizes: the three videos that get the most likes on Instagram and Facebook will each win a cash gift card:

1st prize: $500 gift card for Facebook, $500 gift card for Instagram

2nd prize: $300 gift card for Facebook, $300 gift card for Instagram

3rd prize: $200 gift card for Facebook, $200 gift card for Instagram
